The Giving Challenge April 28-29 allows local donors to have their donations matched to a Bradenton-based nonprofit TIFF, or To Inform Families First. The organization created a system for people to put emergency contact information on their driver’s license. This could help emergency responders inform loved ones immediately in the case of a family member’s accident.
The Giving Challenge is a nationally recognized event, and this specific branch of this challenge highlights nonprofit organizations in the Bradenton-Sarasota area. It is a 24-hour donation competition that takes place from noon to noon, April 28-29. It is an entirely online challenge, created by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. Supporters can donate to TIFF through this challenge by going here.
To continue their hard work in the community, the TIFF initiative needs strong supporters and donors. Every donation between $25-$100 will be matched by the foundation, which means your money will go even farther towards helping TIFF’s outreach in Florida and around the US. There are options to donate in monetary increments, or donors can choose to their own amount.
For $25, funds can go towards raising awareness for the TIFF initiative. For $50, you can help support TIFF in community outreach programs. For $100, you can fund the importance of TIFF throughout the country by giving to fund the travel and education of TIFF.
Any amount more than this would help fund all of the above options and would be of great importance to the organization.

The process to include an emergency contact is simple and only requires a couple of minutes. Drivers can easily register their emergency contact information at www.toinformfamiliesfirst.org for free. This process is especially vital right now, as many older people or people with health conditions are in situations where they may fall ill and have to be rushed to the hospital in a moment’s notice.
The TIFF Initiative is already established in 15 states but is looking to branch out to include other states. The most recent state to establish the TIFF initiative’s process of adding an emergency contact to driver’s license was Texas, so if you or someone you know are in Texas and have not already signed up, urge them to do so.
To help TIFF achieve this goal of branching out to a wider range of states, supporters can participate in the Giving Challenge and donate to TIFF.
TIFF’s founder Christine Olson of Bradenton created TIFF in memory of her daughter, who was killed in a crash in 2005. Olson was not notified that her daughter was in the hospital for several hours and after that horrible ordeal decided to create TIFF, so no one has to experience what she did that day. A donation to the TIFF initiative and signing up for the emergency contact information means that you and your loved ones will not experience this. In these times, it is especially important to fight fear by coming together as a community to support a worthy cause and the giving challenge is the perfect way to do this.
