Ian Black Real Estate has donated $2,500 to Season of Sharing – a partnership between the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, the Herald-Tribune Media Group and other nonprofit agencies – to support those affected by COVID-19.
Season of Sharing, a 20-year-long fundraising campaign typically run during the holiday season, will quickly and proactively help the most vulnerable individuals and families with immediate basic needs, such as payments for utilities, childcare and rent.
“During this unprecedented time, we feel fortunate to be a part of helping our neighbors who are seriously impacted by the wide-spread hardship that the coronavirus is causing,” said Ian Black, partner and founder of Ian Black Real Estate, Sarasota’s premier commercial real estate brokerage firm.
The donation comes from the Ian Black Real Estate Charitable Foundation, a donor-advised fund the firm established with Gulf Coast Community Foundation in February 2019. It allows partners at Ian Black Real Estate to make contributions to the fund on behalf of the firm, and then issue grants from that fund to 501(c)(3) nonprofits of their choice.
Donations to the Season of Sharing fund may be made online at www.cfsarasota.org/donors/support-season-of-sharing or by sending a check (payable to Community Foundation of Sarasota County) to Attn: Season of Sharing, 2635 Fruitville Road, Sarasota, FL 34237. There are no administrative fees, and 100% of every donation goes to those trying to stabilize their lives. All donations are tax deductible.
