TAMPA, Fla. (March 16, 2020) – Due to the ongoing health risks associated with Coronavirus, WUSF Public Media is postponing the “Longest Table” epicurean dinner event that was scheduled for this April 16 in downtown St. Petersburg. “The health and safety of our guests is of the highest importance to us and we want to make sure that every experience we bring is one that can be thoroughly enjoyed,” said WUSF Public Media General Manager JoAnn Urofsky. “We are grateful for the people who look forward to this event every year and WUSF is looking forward to more engaging events in the future.” WUSF will follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and other government entities to determine when it will be safe to reschedule this event. Guests who purchased tickets to the gala can expect an automatic refund from the ticketing system. Planning WUSF’s Longest Table required some fixed costs that WUSF will not recoup, such as permitting, equipment and logistics. We know many of our listeners attend the Longest Table to help support our news reporting and music programming. “If you would like to convert all or part of your ticket cost into a donation to WUSF 89.7 or Classical WSMR, we would greatly appreciate the gesture,” Urofsky said. “Accurate reporting is more important now than ever, and we are grateful that so many people look to WUSF for fair, accurate and helpful information.” Make your donation online at www.wusf.org.
