Florida start-up poised to transform organic gardening and cannabis growing industries

Sarasota Green Group’s Earth’s Ally product line includes Weed & Grass Killer, Insect Control and Disease Control

Sarasota Green Group introduces Earth’s Ally® and Grower’s Ally® organic pest and disease control products

As the organic fruit and vegetable market continues to flourish with over $17.4 billion in sales in 2018*, budding home gardeners learning to grow their own food are searching for safe and effective ways to keep their plants healthy. To support home organic gardeners and growers, Florida start-up Sarasota Green Group (SGG) has recently launched a product line that includes OMRI Listed© pest and disease control solutions that are safe for people, pets and the planet.

Earth’s Ally® and Grower’s Ally® product lines are FIFRA25(b) exempt and bee-friendly, preventing disease and protecting gardens, greenhouses and indoor crops during all stages of growth, using safe and natural ingredients like rosemary, clove and peppermint oils, sea salt and citric acid. These products are derived from field-tested, farmer-approved products currently used in commercial agriculture.

As Sarasota Green Group prepares to sell to retail garden and home improvement centers, and directly to consumers through its online store, veteran business leader Scott Allshouse has been tapped as SGG’s first chief executive officer. The former CEO of Buddy Fruits has over 20 years of experience in the consumer-packaged goods industry and looks forward to growing the new company.

“Eating and growing fruits and vegetables in a healthy manner is very important to today’s consumer,” Allshouse said. “Sarasota Green Group is on a mission to support gardeners, farmers and growers in providing safe, chemical-free products to their families and customers.”

Selected from the safest and most effective products across the organic agricultural industry, Earth’s Ally® products are bottled in ready-to-use packages for both the home gardener and the small organic farmer. Insect Control gives gardeners the best defense against common garden pests, like aphids, spider mites and whiteflies. Disease Control, a broad-spectrum fungicide, leaves behind no harmful residues and can be used up until the day of harvest to control powdery mildew, blight and leaf spot. Weed & Grass Killer is a non-selective herbicide powered by sea salt that kills all common weeds to the root and offers a safer alternative to glyphosate.

Grower’s Ally® products, available in both ready-to-use and concentrate sizes, are specifically formulated to control and eliminate the most common pests and problems that cannabis growers face, like spider mites and powdery mildew. Proven effective on a variety of crops and through extensive testing by independent labs, Spider Mite Control and Fungicide leave behind no residual and can be used up until the day of harvest with no sensory effect on yields.
