The Red Apple School and the Thomas Promise Foundation were the joint charities of the month at the Pasco Tax Collector’s Office during January of this year. The Red Apple School assists individuals with developmental disabilities, once they have completed high school, to become more independent. The Thomas Promise Foundation provides weekend food for children in need who attend Pasco County Schools.
“The Red Apple staff and students would like to thank all of the staff from the Pasco County Tax Collector’s office and each and every one of the Pasco County residents who were kind enough to contribute to this fundraiser,” states Trudy Acevedo, Executive Director. “We are pleased to announce that the money received from this fundraiser will go towards supporting individuals with disabilities to receive a scholarship to attend The Red Apple School, Inc. where they will be offered a variety of meaningful activities. We appreciate the generosity and support.”
“The Thomas Promise Foundation would like to thank the Tax Collector staff for all their hard work each month helping to support local charities, along with a special thank you as well to the Pasco County residents that donated to our program,” comments Dianna Thomas, Founder & Executive Director. “Your generous donations allowed us to provide over 1300 meals to Pasco County children. It is your support that helps us to meet the nutritional needs of over 1600 students each and every week.”
“It was an honor to play a small part in helping these two fine organizations raise needed funds for their respective programs,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano remarked. “The Red Apple School continues the education needed by students who have completed their public education but can still benefit by the life skills offered by the school. The Thomas Promise Foundation provides food for children who have little to eat over the weekend. To see these two charities, united by a common desire to help those in need, take an active part in the campaign, and evenly split the funds received, made this campaign a special one indeed.”
