Four Nursing Units Honored at National Awards Ceremony on February 24
BRANDON, Florida – (March 9, 2020) – Brandon Regional Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Behavioral Health earned top honors as 2019 Units of Distinction for HCA Healthcare in Nashville. The hospital’s ER 24/7 in Temple Terrace and Progressive Care Unit A2 walked away with Honorable Mention recognition. They were selected from among 2,200 nursing units at HCA Healthcare sites across the country.
The “Unit of Distinction” designation is achieved through measureable, exemplary performance in advocacy and leadership, consistency in nursing practice and operations, and the effective use of resources to improve outcomes. They scored in the top five percent of approximately 20 different criteria, with Honorable Mention units following in the top six to ten percent.
“I am very proud of our nursing units and every caregiver who worked so hard to achieve this honor,” said Kyle thrift, MBA, MSN, RN, NE-BC, Chief Nursing Officer at Brandon Regional Hospital. “It speaks to their commitment to the care and improvement of human life, and their dedication to nursing excellence.”
