MIAMI, Fla. – The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), the state’s leading certifier of green residential and commercial construction projects, is a proud partner with IMN’s 7th Annual Land & Homebuilding Forum, taking place April 23-24 in Miami.
With an exclusive focus on Florida, FGBC is by far the largest certifier of residential and commercial construction, master-planned communities and local governments in the Sunshine State with over 21,500 since 2000.
“We are excited to be a part of this great event. It’s become a premier gathering place for homebuilders, developers, and capital providers,” noted FGBC Executive Director C.J. Davila. “Beyond third party certifications, FGBC is also a prime resource for builders and developers when considering going green, so we will be right at home.”
IMN Program Manager Peter Gilfillan added, “We’re pleased to partner with the FGBC on this event as the importance of green initiatives continues to become a priority for our stakeholders, especially in a state such as Florida.”
The forum will bring together senior level industry participants – including national and regional homebuilders, private equity funds, land developers and various service providers – for a day and a half of interactive panel discussions, keynotes and networking opportunities. Topics of discussion include M&A Activity, Debt, Equity & Joint Venture Financing, Technology & Innovation, Construction Methods and more.
“As more builders and developers look to going green in Florida FGBC’s certification standards, that take a scientific approach and developed with state-specific criteria, have become very appealing compared to other standards,” noted FGBC President Barry Faske.

ABOUT FGBC
In 2000 the non-profit Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) brought together industry professionals from the construction, government, academic and research communities to create green building standards tailored specifically to Florida. Headquartered in Orlando, FGBC certification provides a pathway to build green homes, apartments high-rises and commercial buildings and is the leading certifier of green residential construction in Florida. Unlike USGBC LEED, Green Globes and other standards, “Florida Green” takes a scientific approach developed with state-specific criteria. They address Florida’s hot-humid environment, distinctive topography, unique geology, resiliency and natural disasters. Learn more at www.floridagreenbuilding.org.
