Tampa, Florida – January 23, 2020 – There comes a time every year when the cry goes out across the land: HUMANS: Share your passion, distill it down to five minutes, and accompany it with 20 images that will auto-advance every 15 seconds. That time is now. That land is Tampa Bay. This is the 10th annual Ignite Tampa Bay Call for Speakers!
Ignite is an international movement taking place regularly in cities across the globe. It is an informal evening where the audience gathers to hear and be inspired by members of the public who share their knowledge and experience on virtually any topic. These can be serious, humorous, inspiring, and downright rude at times, but they are always entertaining. It’s an excellent opportunity to meet smart, interesting people and learn something as well.
Do you have a burning desire that you want to share with the world? We want to know what ignites the fire in your life! Is it a favorite pastime, a collection, a hobby, or a pivotal experience that has changed you? Past subjects have been as varied as bees, Batman, OCD, community gardens, entrepreneurship, childhood cancer, equality, bread, Indie film, STEM education, and more. There’s no right or wrong topic…in fact; sometimes the least expected is exactly what we’re looking for!
YOU can give an Ignite talk. We know it. The program is selected from the applicants by a committee of community members based on the submitted talk titles and descriptions. We’re looking for people we don’t know, people who don’t look like us, don’t act like us, don’t think like us. We’re looking for you!
It’s a friendly and encouraging atmosphere made up of keen listeners who form an appreciative audience. Need examples to spur you on? Check out our YouTube channel https://bit.ly/37dyiHp to see videos from previous events.
Ignite speaker submissions are officially open, with a total of 20 speaker slots. Speaker selection begins in February, with selections made multiple times during the open call process. Get your submission in early to improve your chances of being selected. The final selection completed on March 27th, so get moving and submit your talk at www.ignitetampa.org
Technova Florida presents Ignite Tampa Bay each year. Our all-volunteer organization is determined to fill the night with wonderment, new ideas, and inspiration. We put 100 percent of all money back into the community. This year we will be supporting one of Tampa Bay’s historic and loved venues, The Palladium Theater in downtown St. Pete (#dtsp), which is ready for over 800 Igniters to take over on April 16th. We just need one more thing. You!
Ignite Tampa Speaker Applications and Tickets are available through the Ignite Tampa Bay website and going fast. Be sure to join the meetup group at: http://www.meetup.com/IgniteTampaBay/ for updates on the event and let everyone you’re going!
