SARASOTA, Fla. (Jan. 28, 2020) – Harmar has leased a 19,916-square-foot office space in Northgate Center Business Park to house its sales, executive and operational staff. The manufacturer of wheelchair and scooter vehicle lifts and other accessibility equipment will continue to operate out of its current location at 2075 47th Street in Sarasota.
Nick DeVito II, SIOR, and Joanna Ginder of Ian Black Real Estate represented the landlord, Independence Business Center. Julia Silva, SIOR, of Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant. The property is located at 1500 Independence Boulevard.
“Independence Business Center is in close proximity to Harmar’s existing location and already configured for office use, which will make this a smooth transition for their team,” said DeVito, partner at Ian Black Real Estate. “In addition, the industrial park offers ample parking to accommodate the growth they are currently experiencing.”
Demand for Harmar’s products continues to increase as the aging population grows. By 2035, The U.S. Census Bureau estimates there will be 78 million people age 65 and older in the U.S. alone.
“Typically, office spaces in industrial parks are more affordable than retail or office environments,” said Ginder, sales associate at Ian Black Real Estate. “We were pleased to put together a deal that worked for both parties and look forward to watching Harmar grow in its new space.”
Headquartered in Sarasota, Harmar offers a large variety of innovative solutions to enhance home accessibility for the mobility challenged. The new space will accommodate Harmar’s growing front-office staff.
