Situational Awareness/Threat Profiling: What to look for
Born and raised in Glen Rose, Texas, Jim Howard brings a wealth of knowledge and skill sets to the church safety and security industry, founding Trinity Security Allies in 2015, based on the needs of community churches.
At age 18, Jim joined the Air Force Reserves later moving to the Norfolk Police Department at age 21. There he spent the next 26 years serving in a multitude of capacities including Vice and Narcotics Investigator, Crisis Negotiation Trainer and retired as a Sergeant. After leaving the Norfolk Police Department in 2001, Jim spent time doing worldwide security options analysis and executive protection at the World Bank in Washington D.C. In late 2002, Jim brought his family to Florida where he spent the next four years working with a public safety software company. In 2008, Jim joined the Belleair Police Department as their detective. In 2017, Jim left the Belleair Police Department to work full time with the ministry. Jim recently served as an auxiliary police officer with the Port Richey Police Department and is currently an adjunct instructor for St. Pete College – instructing legal, crime scene to courtroom classes and lead firearms instructor.
Jim started working with churches in 2006 educating them on how to not be a soft target and is currently the safety consultant for Generations Christian Church in Trinity, FL. Jim currently holds the position of Executive Director of Trinity Security Allies, working with churches across the United States in training them on how to protect their congregation.
In 1970, when Jim was just age 16, Jim’s father stepped outside their church and killed the deacon that was helping his family because of domestic issues they were having; bringing the tragedy that happened those many years ago full circle in protecting our houses of worship.
