SARASOTA COUNTY – In celebration of Florida Arbor Day, Sarasota County is once again inviting the community to journey on a “Tree Quest,” during a two-week scavenger hunt at county parks. Starting on Jan. 17, the scavenger hunt is aimed at highlighting the importance of trees and their many benefits. The community is encouraged to search for five types of trees using clues at either North Lido Beach, 50 Benjamin Franklin Drive, Sarasota; Culverhouse Nature Park, 7301 McIntosh Road, Sarasota; Manasota Scrub Preserve, 2695 Bridge St., Englewood. Cards that list the clues are available at county libraries and to download online.Trees will be tagged with a fact sheet to not only let you know you’ve found the right one, but to also help you learn more about the benefits that trees provide.
