Tampa, FL – New Year’s Resolutions are all about the same, eat healthier, exercise more, get a better job, and then there are the loftier goals, goals like make a movie!
It may have seemed impossible before, but thanks to the 48 Hour Film Projects, it’s become not only possible, it’s become easy and exciting to check being a filmmaker off the bucket list.
The 48 Hour Film Project celebrates 20 years this year of helping people make their dreams come true. It’s become a rite of passage for filmmakers and wanna be filmmakers who want to see their work on the big screen in a fun and affordable way.
It’s even more affordable easier to participate now through January 15 during the New Year’s Super Early Bird Special.
City Producer for the Tampa 48 Hour Film Project, Wendy Robbins says, “So many people have the dream of “one day” making a film. The 48 Hour Film Projects takes away any excuse someone may have.”
Robbins adds that often people take the films they make during the weekend on to other film festivals or use them for their acting or directing demo reels to get other projects.
All completed films are premiered at a major local theater, followed by a “Oscar” style event a few weeks later. Both events give participants a chance to walk and pose on the red carpet.
The best film then goes on to the international competition “Filmapalooza” with a chance to be screened at the Cannes International Film Festival.
