The nonprofit is participating in The Patterson Foundation’s Margin & Mission Ignition initiative to implement earned-income strategies that strengthen mission impact
SARASOTA, Fla. (January 07, 2020) – Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s has exceeded its goal for investments to jumpstart implementation of its new earned-income plan, raising $142,850 total with a $50,000 match from The Patterson Foundation. Through its participation in the Margin & Mission Ignition initiative, Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s has developed an entrepreneurial plan to strengthen its mission impact in the region. The Patterson Foundation provided the match for donations and investments made toward the startup capital requirements of the plans developed by the nonprofits participating in Margin & Mission Ignition. Beyond the match, the Foundation is investing $25,000 in Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s to help it develop earned-income strategies.
Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s is participating in Margin & Mission Ignition, an initiative of The Patterson Foundation that gives organizations the opportunity to explore and develop entrepreneurial principles that strengthen their mission and impact. Nonprofits are selected to participate in the 30-month planning and implementation process after a months-long application period. Through the initiative, Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s is receiving consultation on strategies to increase revenue from No Margin, No Mission, a social enterprise and national consulting firm engaged by The Patterson Foundation.
“We are profoundly grateful to The Patterson Foundation and donors who are supporting the development of this educational program for professionals in the medical arena,” said CEO Robyn Faucy-Washington.
People with PD widely experience the difficulty of finding medical practitioners who are well-versed in diagnosing and treating people with the disease. With fewer physicians specializing in Neurology and with the number of people diagnosed with Parkinson’s foreseen to double by 2040, the challenge is expected to become even greater.
“Participants will be able to use the information from products immediately which will result in better patient outcomes,” said Faucy-Washington.
The subscription-based program is designed for use by hospitals, assisted living facilities and home health care settings. Neuro Challenge will be working closely with renowned neurologists and Parkinson’s specialists as well as Sarasota Memorial Hospital in the development of this program.
“Through Margin & Mission Ignition, nonprofits have an opportunity to explore and develop entrepreneurial endeavors that propel them toward greater thrivability,” said Debra Jacobs, president and CEO of The Patterson Foundation. “We are elated that Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s has already achieved this match and look forward to the earned-income evolution it will help fuel.”
