TAMPA, Florida – (January 2, 2020) – HCA Healthcare West Florida welcomes Ginger Carroll, FACHE, as the new Chief Executive Officer of Citrus Memorial Hospital, according to Tim Burroughs, Chief Administrative Offer. Carroll currently serves as CEO of HCA’s West Marion Community Hospital, a 174-bed facility in Ocala where she has led an impressive list of accomplishments in operational excellence, service line growth and cultural change.
Ginger brings to her new role more than 16 years HCA Healthcare leadership experience. She came to Ocala Health as Chief Nursing Officer in 2003 and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer for West Marion in December 2007. Under her direction, the hospital grew exponentially with an award-winning best in class Orthopedic Joint Care Center, a Cardiology/PCI/Stemi program, a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center and most recently the development of a minimally invasive general surgery and robotics program. Since her appointment as CEO, West Marion has grown from 70 beds to 174 beds, 12 ER rooms to 31 and the OR capacity doubled.
Ginger also championed the establishment of Ocala Health’s first GME program with the University of Central Florida that today includes eight programs serving 130+ residents.

She began her career in nursing and prior to joining Ocala Health, she was CEO of Scott County Medical Center, a CHS facility in Oneida, Tennessee and COO/CNO of Cleveland Community Hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Ginger holds a Master of Science in Management from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
She is active professionally and in the community, which has included serving on the Board of Directors for Marion PACE for Girls, Southwest Marion Rotary, Advisory Board for Continuity of Care and the American Cancer Society.
