Walmart is donating the services of almost two dozen tractor trailers to transport more than 120,000 wreaths to memorial ceremonies across the country as part of its contribution to Wreaths across America (WAA) and National Wreath Laying Day.
Tractor trailers filled with balsam fir memorial wreaths will be relayed through more than 44 Walmart distribution centers, and more than 100 Walmart drivers across the country will help transport those wreaths from Columbia Falls, Maine, to their destinations.
About Wreaths across America
Wreaths across America began in 2008 as a part of the Arlington National Cemetery wreath project, which was started in 1992 with the annual placement of wreaths donated by Worcester Wreath Co. Today, it is a monumental initiative, with partners like Walmart, Civil Air Patrol, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Maine State Society of Washington, D.C., and other veterans’ groups participating, not to mention the tens of thousands of private citizens who sponsor wreaths for the wreath-laying ceremonies.
