About the Great Hernando Weight Loss Challenge
The Great Hernando Weight Loss Challenge was founded in 2017 by CHIPP to support residents who hope to attain a healthier weight and learn how to live a healthier lifestyle. Participants are encouraged to join teams of 10, each committing to lose 10 pounds each or a collective 100 pounds over a 10-week period. In 2017, more than 7,000 lbs. were lost and that number has increased each year. Cash (gift card) prizes are awarded during the End Celebration to the 1st and second place teams for greatest weight loss and greatest percentage of weight lost. All participants achieving a 10 lb. weight loss are entered into a $100 gift card drawing.
