Tampa Bay Wave Names Brian Deming as Board Chair

December 3, 2019 by Post

TAMPA, FL (DECEMBER 02, 2019) – Tampa Bay Wave, Inc. (Wave), a local nonprofit dedicated to driving opportunity and prosperity for Tampa Bay by helping entrepreneurs build, launch, and grow breakout tech companies, welcomes Brian Deming, a veteran tech entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of consulting and business leadership experience, as its newest Board Chair.

Brian is the co-founder and former president of Tribridge, a technology company specializing in software, services and cloud solutions, where he had overall responsibility for the development and operations of the company’s consulting services, corporate growth and acquisition, and strategic direction. Under his leadership, through a combination of organic growth and acquisition, Tribridge grew from a startup to an internationally recognized consulting and solutions firm, posting a compound annual growth rate of nearly 50% prior to being acquired in 2017 by DXC Technology, the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company.

“Tampa Bay Wave is excited to welcome Brian Deming as our new Board Chair, and I express my deepest gratitude to Alex Sink for her leadership this past year,” stated Linda Olson, President and founder of Tampa Bay Wave. “2020 is shaping up to be yet another year of tremendous growth within the local technology community and the Wave organization. Brian’s proven industry and leadership experience will certainly be a key factor to helping us achieve our mission of driving economic progress in Tampa Bay by fueling startups into breakout success.”

Brian has previously served on boards for numerous nonprofit organizations and privately held corporations throughout Tampa Bay. He is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the United Way Suncoast, serves on the boards of several early stage companies, and is an active investor through Florida Funders as well as directly investing in local companies. Brian’s strong community connections and experience will bring great focus to Wave’s strategic efforts to support Tampa Bay’s early stage tech ecosystem in the coming year.

“I am excited to serve as Chair and look forward to stepping into the Board Chair role for Tampa Bay Wave in 2020,” stated Brian. “It is thrilling to see the incredible progress we are making in establishing Tampa Bay as a thriving ecosystem for entrepreneurs and early stage tech companies, and I look forward to working with this incredibly passionate board, staff and volunteers to drive continued growth and success across the region.”

In the past year, Tampa Bay Wave has strategically selected community business leaders with executive experience coupled with a passion for guiding young startups and supporting homegrown businesses. Former Florida CFO, gubernatorial candidate, longtime banker and entrepreneurial advocate Alex Sink previously served as Wave’s Board Chair in 2019 and will remain an active board member. Widely known for her high-level banking career and political achievements, Sink also has a long track record of successful mentorship including guiding several budding entrepreneurs to the executive level, many of whom continue to grow their businesses in Tampa Bay.
