Manatee County Clerk of Court assists hundreds during Operation Green Light

BRADENTON, Fla. — The Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller participated in Operation Green Light, a 1-week driver license reinstatement event in October 2019, and assisted 39 customers with the reinstatement of their license, helped make 160 eligible to restatement their driver’s license and placed 603 cases on a payment plan.

During Operation Green Light, Manatee County customers with suspended licenses had an opportunity to pay overdue court obligations, including traffic tickets, and save up to 30 percent in additional fees. Customers were also be able to potentially have suspended licenses reinstated. To become eligible or to have a license reinstated, customers were able to satisfy fees owed or were placed on payment plans.

“Operation Green Light was a very successful, coordinated effort on the part of all Florida Clerks,” said Angel Colonneso, the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. “Our team was pleased to help get residents back in the driver’s seat and allow customers to comply with court obligations and keep their license.”

According to the Florida Association of Court Clerks and Comptrollers, 65 of the 67 counties in Florida participated in the initiative. Statewide 1,771 driver’s licenses were reinstated, and 9,841 cases were made eligible for their driver’s licenses. Additionally, 10,246 cases were paid in full, and 22,501 payment plans were established or re-established.
