Seffner, Fl- Seffner Christian Academy announced this week that a family has made a significant donation to allow for the beginning of their expansion plans. In the Spring of 2020, construction of the new Athletic Field House will begin. The plans include the construction of a 4200 square foot field house to provide students, parents and guests with locker rooms, bathrooms, showers, team rooms, a training room and a concession area. This will be a multi-sport facility for the outdoor teams to utilize throughout the year and will be a tremendous addition to the SCA Athletic Program
Seffner Christian Academy opened its doors in 1983, offering preschool through 7th grade classes to 60 students. Over the years, the school has continued to grow and expand, as evidenced by the current enrollment of over 700 students in preschool through 12th grade.
The Athletic Field House is part of Phase II of the expansion plans. The expansion plans were presented as part of the school’s Ignite the Vision campaign. The Ignite campaign will raise funding to build new facilities for the areas of academics, fine arts and athletics. The campaign is divided into five phases and seven projects. The PHASES may be completed in sequence as the monies are raised. The PROJECTS will be completed anytime funds are made available through fundraising designate for that project.
Included in the phases with the redesigned Athletic Field House are a Fine Arts/Science Center, an Athletic Stadium and an Administration/Elementary Building. The projects include a Secondary classroom building, an expanded playground, new tennis and basketball courts, additional practice fields, an updated school entrance as well as a softball and baseball complex.
