BRADENTON, Fla. — During October, the staff of the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller acknowledged Domestic Violence Awareness Month by collecting 374 books to benefit children visiting its Violence Protection division.
The donations will be placed in Domestic Violence, Family and Child Support Program waiting areas for children visiting the office. Contributions were made to the Violence Protection division inside the Manatee County courthouse or at any of the Manatee County Clerk of Court’s historical sites, such as the Florida Maritime Museum, Manatee County Agricultural Museum, Manatee County Historical Records Library, Manatee Village Historical Park and Palmetto Historical Park.
“Our team truly appreciates the support from our staff and the public during this book drive,” said Angel Colonneso, the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. “We hope these copies will help bring comfort to children during a visit to our office.”
The Violence Protection division is available to provide information to all parties involved with the injunction for protection process, which is commonly referred to as restraining orders.
