Mary Ellen Upton, Executive Director of WORLD PARTNERSHIPS, INC., states, “World Partnerships hosts another OPEN event Hidden No More: Empowering Women Leaders in STEM. STEM is the acronym for science technology engineering and math for this inaugural State Department Initiative in Tampa Bay for an open discussion with their counterparts in the Tampa Bay area. Participants are “hidden talent” in their home countries who explore and advance policies that champion the interests of women in STEM.”
She continues, “World Partnerships, in collaboration with USF St. Petersburg OPEN, invites the public to a Community Conversation with a panel of 8 women leaders from Argentina, Egypt, Estonia, Malta, Paraguay, South Africa, Vietnam, and Zambia to hear stories about their work, their countries, and the challenges and opportunities for women in STEM fields around the globe. Ms. Lakshmi Shenoy, Chief Executive Officer of Embarc Collective, will moderate the panel and audience discussion.”
The event is open to the public and free of charge. A reception will follow the panel discussion.
