One year after purchasing the venerable Sarasota architecture firm, Carlson Studio Architecture, its principal-in-charge and CEO, Sean Williams, AIA, is pleased to announce the firm’s rebrand as Carbon Design & Architecture. The change better reflects the firm’s purpose and commitment to sustainable, meaningful architecture.
Throughout the firm’s 22-year history, Carlson Studio focused on sustainable solutions for the built environment, dedicated to the highest quality solutions, cost control, and innovative use of technology. As Carbon, the firm will continue to find innovative solutions in healthcare, higher education, hospitality, and other commercial projects.
“Our firm continues to evolve and transform into an industry leader in sustainability, so we felt it was time for our name to reflect these changes,” said Williams. “Why Carbon? Because the element, carbon, is found in every living thing. It binds to other elements in meaningful ways. It evokes the organic nature of how interconnected we are with our environment. This name focuses on directing the course of restorative design, where built environments respond to the ecological needs of our clients.”
