St. Pete Tampa Aerial Transit, LLC (STAT) is proposing a new 21st century elevated, on-demand public transit service for the Tampa Bay region.
The Clearwater, Florida based company will be exhibiting at the upcoming (Thursday, October 17th from 5:30 until 7:30) Uptown United Innovation Gathering at the Sam and Martha Gibbons Alumni Center on the campus of the University of South Florida.
According to STAT’s founder, Tom Nocera, “This new mode of elevated transit, Aerial Personal Rapid Transit, will be the answer to traffic congestion which our region has long wanted. By planning for it now, we can be positioned to have the first such system in Florida. Much like our region was the first to launch commercial air service back in 1914, we’re striving to be the leaders who will utilize 21st century smart technologies to “leapfrog” Tampa Bay from worst to first!”
The executive team from STAT looks forward to meeting Tampa’s new mayor, Jane Castor, as well as the University of South Florida’s new president, Dr. Steven Currall who are both expected to speak at the annual event.
