Sarasota, Florida October 8, 2019 – Scott Zelniker and Jason Hughes of UBS Financial Services have joined forces to form The Zelniker Dorfman Heritage Group, offering clients the resources of the world’s largest wealth management firm, and the concierge service you would expect from a boutique firm. The combined team manages nearly $1 billion of client assets and will be based out of Sarasota, Florida.
Veterans of the financial services business, the founders of both teams have acquired an understanding of family dynamics, financial markets and business that only decades of extensive practice can bring. Zelniker and Hughes recognized early that they share a similar clientele and a similar philosophy on how clients should be served. When the timing was right to merge, they seized the opportunity.
“We believe we are better together,” said Zelniker, Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at UBS and a founding member of The Zelniker Dorfman Group. After dividing his time between New York and Florida for the past 15 years, Zelniker now calls the Suncoast home. “Jason and I take each client’s wellbeing personally as if we were advising our own families. It is our privilege to help them achieve what is most important to them.”
The Group’s concierge service model includes customized investment solutions, proactive asset management, private banking, tailored lending, estate planning, philanthropy and liquidity options for clients. The result is a financial planning entity that gives the advisors the ability to service clients through a holistic, multi-generational lens.
“I’m excited to offer the added experience and knowledge that Scott has earned from working in Manhattan,” said Hughes. “What separates us from other financial advisors in our industry is our commitment to working together with our clients’ tax advisors and attorneys to ensure we are all working in concert to serve our clients.”
Hughes is a First Vice President of Wealth Management at UBS and co-founder of The Heritage Group in Sarasota along with his partner, Justin Leins. Hughes earned a BSBA in Economics from the University of Florida and joined UBS in 2012. He holds various industry designations, including the CFP®, Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor. He has resided in the Sarasota area for more than 35 years and currently lives in McClellan Park with his wife, Leigh and children, Reagan and William.
Zelniker began his career in financial services in April of 1992 and joined UBS in 2016. Along the way, he and his partner Peter Dorfman developed a practice working extensively with private business owners with the focus on exit planning, asset management, estate planning and meeting the multigenerational needs of families. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Finance and achieved his MBA in Finance and Business Management at Hofstra University. Zelniker resides in Lakewood Ranch with his family.
Both Zelniker and Hughes have taken active roles in the community and will continue to make supporting local organizations a core tenet of The Zelniker Dorfman Heritage Group.
