Roxanne Fixsen joins FHSP as its new Special Projects Officer

St. Petersburg, Florida (August 28, 2019)— Roxanne Fixsen has joined the Foundation as Special Projects Officer. In this role she will lead, organize, and manage internal and external implementation of projects to maximize the impact of the Foundation’s mission. Roxanne has practiced law for eleven years, nearly ten of those with Trenam Law, where she served with distinction and was a partner. She was honored as a Florida Super Lawyer, Rising Star from 2013-17 and received the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Award in April 2017. Her practice focused on business litigation and appellate work.
Prior to attending Stetson College of Law, where she graduated second in her class and was on the Stetson Law Review, Roxanne worked for fifteen years with children and families involved in the foster care system. She was the chief operating officer for the nonprofit agency responsible for the first district-wide privatization of foster care in Pinellas and Pasco Counties. In that role, Roxanne was responsible for the safety of thousands of children, and managed hundreds of staff, hundreds of foster parents, and dozens of contracted agencies.

“Roxanne’s distinguished legal background and prior experience in social work and human services delivery will enhance the health equity work in our county,” says FHSP President and CEO Randall H. Russell. “We are grateful to welcome her skills and community insight to the Foundation team.”

In addition to her law degree, Roxanne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the
University of Nebraska and a Master’s degree in counseling from the University of South Florida.
