United for Human Rights and the Dawn V. Gregory Foundation Announce a Free Sexual Harassment Workshop

September 8, 2019 by Post

To mark their commitment to the topic of Women’s Rights and as the commencement of their Fall 2019 women’s empowerment series, United for Human Rights and the Dawn V. Gregory Foundation are offering a free Sexual Harassment Workshop titled #NotMe: Navigating in the Era of the #MeToo Movement.

(Clearwater, 1 September)—In recognition of the importance of the #MeToo movement concerning the exponential number of women who have been subject to sexual harassment, as well as the statistical acknowledgment of the significant amount of cases that have gone unreported, United for Human Rights and the Dawn V. Gregory Foundation have partnered to provide an intergenerational all-encompassing workshop on the topic of sexual harassment.

Conducted by Pinellas County County Compliance Manager, Jeffrey Lorick, the comprehensive workshop will include education and training concerning statistics, ramifications, prevention and recourse, as well as an in-depth open question and answer forum. The event will take place of Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the United for Human Rights headquarters in Clearwater, located at 29 N Fort Harrison Ave, Clearwater, FL 33755

The #NotMe: Navigating in the Era of the #MeToo Movement Workshop seeks to bring those committed to women’s rights as well as advocates for gender equality, together with anyone interested in becoming more informed on the topic. The idea is to discover how to take the necessary steps to ensure an environment free from sexual harassment. The subject has become pervasive throughout a broad spectrum of industries and professions. Allegations of harassment have become systemic yet can be quite damaging for individuals and businesses accused of misconduct. This one-day training should be compulsory for any person or business wishing to educate and prepare their themselves, or their team, from being involved in such occurrences.

The workshop is the first in a leading-edge four-part platform that will seek to educate women on points that primarily govern their lives, a social, health, economic and political standpoint called, “UpliftHER: Recognizing that empowered women empower their communities”. The series will take place once per month starting this September and continuing until the end of the year.
