ST. LEO, FL – Fire the cannons! Saint Leo University and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers commemorated Saint Leo becoming the exclusive educational partner of the Bucs at a kickoff party Wednesday, August 28. The partnership was marked by a mingling of Saint Leo’s green and gold and the Buccaneers’ red and pewter on the Pasco County campus in St. Leo, Florida, north of Tampa.
Team mascots Fritz, representing the Saint Leo Lions, and Captain Fear the Buccaneer, representing the NFL team, as well as cheerleaders from both organizations led the celebration on campus. The event featured food, music, games, and special giveaways from the Buccaneers. Students, faculty, and staff also were entered to win tickets to Buccaneers games at Raymond James Stadium.
With the partnership, Saint Leo University will be featured in online, television, radio, and in-stadium promotional advertisements. Bucs Trivia Tuesday on Instagram, Game Day Trivia in Raymond James Stadium on game days, and the Military Hero presented at each home game also will be presented by Saint Leo.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization will benefit as the university has signed a preferred partnership agreement with the Buccaneers that will offer a tuition discount to all of the organization’s staff who wish to pursue a degree at Saint Leo.
