The Bradenton native holds certifications from several prestigious yacht builders.
SARASOTA, Florida—Certified Professional Yacht Broker (CYPB) Ryan Hirshberg has joined the sales team at Cannons Marina, which specializes in award-winning Grady-White Boats. Hirshberg, who grew up working in his family’s Tampa Bay-area marina and boat dealership, has been trained and certified by several prestigious yacht builders, including Viking, Princess, Tiara, Grand Banks, Carver and Marquis.
“Coming to work at Cannons is like returning to my roots,” says Hirshberg. “Over the last 17 years I’ve worked with some of the most reputable yacht builders in the country, and I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. But I’m excited to come back to a customer-centric, boutique-style dealership with such a stellar and longstanding reputation.”

After spending his youth as a rigger on his family’s Bradenton-based docks and dry-storage operations, Hirshberg began selling Carver Yachts at the age of 20. In 2002, he earned his CYPB designation and continues to specialize in boats of all sizes, including multi-million-dollar vessels. His biggest sale to date was a 130-foot yacht for $15.5 million.
Hirshberg keeps abreast of industry trends by visiting manufacturing facilities and maintaining relationships with different brands. “I like to have intimate knowledge of different brand philosophies, building techniques and materials so I can recommend the best-quality products to my customers,” he says. In addition to brand knowledge, Hirshberg prides himself on representing his clients’ best interests in both sales and purchases.
“Behind every boat sale is a lifetime of passion and memories,” he says. “It’s more than just helping someone find the right boat. Sometimes it’s helping them find some great fishing spots for their first weekend trip or tracking down the right parts in time for a holiday weekend, or just finding the best deal on insurance.”
At Cannons, Hirshberg hopes to expand the company’s current brokerage offerings and service, in addition to focusing on sales of the new Grady-White product line. “I don’t say goodbye to my customers,” he says. “Whether it’s been two weeks or 20 years, I’m always here to help.”
