Jerry Keane, immediate past president of Sarasota Fiction Writers, will be making a short presentation on the fundamentals of writing at the next monthly meeting in the second-floor conference room at the Selby Library, Sarasota on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 6 pm.
His talk will the first of several scheduled that will be based upon the many great books on fiction writing. Because of the core material in the “classic style manual,” every writer will benefit from what is presented. The book, unnamed by Keane, has been described as, “as timeless as a book can be,” “remains a nonpareil: directed, correct, and delightful,” and as “the best book of its kind.”
Keane is the author of two non-fiction books that remained in print for more than 25 years, as well as the author of seven novels. He is currently the treasurer for Sarasota Fiction Writers.
Visitors are always welcome at the meetings, and the group meets informally for dinner after.
