With Labor Day soon approaching, TampaBay-Job-Links, a local nonprofit organization, is celebrating by offering a free full-day Job-Search Boot Camp on August 28, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The workshop is hosted by the Nonprofit Leadership Center, 1408 N. Westshore Blvd., Suite 140, in Tampa.
This community-wide program provides vital tools and strategies to help individuals in career transition kick their job search into high gear. Job-Links professional career coaches will present interactive content to help participants develop job-search skills– whether someone is just beginning their career, returning to the workforce after an absence, or considering a career change. Topics include conducting self-assessments, developing a professional brand, enhancing interview skills, managing networking, strengthening résumés and LinkedIn profiles, targeting companies, and more.
“Job search has changed dramatically over the last decade,” explained Job-Links executive director Sheila Solomon Rudd. “For example, online applications, the lack of per- sonal interaction, the use of social media, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) have become a normal part of the job search process. Since many workers spend fewer than five years in a job today, it’s important to invest both time and energy to learn effective tools to transition from one job to another, regardless of where you may be on the career continuum.”
Although there is no cost to attend the TampaBay-Job-Links Job-Search Boot Camp, reservations are required and space is limited. Lunch and snacks are included. Interested participants may reserve a seat by calling (813) 344-0200 or by emailing to rsvp@TBJL.org by August 21.
