The Tampa Bay Foundation for Architecture and Design invites locals to join teams led by the top chefs in the Bay to create one of a kind dishes

Tampa, FL (July 11, 2019) – The Tampa Bay Foundation for Architecture and Design announced an event that allows guests to experience first-hand the challenges and joys of food design, Taste of Design.

Teams of 8 non-chefs will gather at Caspers Food Service Design, a state-of-the-art cooking facility on August 22nd to compete in this exciting, hands on culinary experience. Each team will be led by some of the most decorated and beloved chefs in Tampa Bay—Chef Greg Baker, owner of The Refinery, Chef Joe Dodd, owner of King of the Coop, and Chef Max Sherard, owner of Nosh Catering and Chef Jeff Conley, Senior Resident Chef at Publix Aprons Cooking School.

Using the cutting-edge appliances at Caspers, these teams will each prepare the tasting menu designed by their lead chefs. A sommelier will prepare wine pairings for each dish and an open tasting will begin at 5:30 p.m where the public can taste each team’s creations, and vote on their favorite. The winning team will be announced at the close of the event and one team will be selected as the 2019 Taste of Design Champions. This event has been generously sponsored by Breakthrough Beverage Group, and US Foods.

All proceeds from this event benefit the Tampa Bay Foundation for Architecture and Design, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring the exploration of architecture and design, and how it influences shaping our city, our neighborhoods and our lives. TBFAD’s mission is implemented through educational activities and public awareness events, like Taste of Design and many more. Learn more about TBFAD, our programs, and our mission at TBFAD.com
