Gloria A. Ayuba, DO joins the Cardiology team at the Watson Clinic Main location at 1600 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. Dr. Ayuba received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in Cardiovascular Medicine from A.T. Still University/Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, MO. She completed an Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at Beaumont Health in Michigan. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Echocardiography. In addition, she is board-certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and the Certification Board of Cardiac Computed Tomography. Her areas of expertise include general cardiology, cardiac computed tomography, stress testing, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and valvular heart disease.

Leonard J. Gitter, MD has joined the Oncology-Hematology team at theWatson Clinic Cancer & Research Center at 1730 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland, FL. Dr. Gitter received his medical degree from the renowned Technion Institute of Technology Faculty of Medicine In Haifa, Israel. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center/New York Medical College in New York, NY and NYU Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. He went on to complete a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, and an additional fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at NYU Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. Dr. Gitter is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology, Oncology, Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. His areas of expertise include the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the blood, and a wide array of oncologic malignancies.

Vindya Gunawardena, MD is the newest member of Watson Clinic’s expert Endocrinology department. Dr. Gunawardena received her medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences in Washington, DC. She went on to complete both her residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Endocrinology/Diabetes Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, FL. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her areas of expertise include diabetes management, insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, transgender medicine, as well as calcium, thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the American Thyroid Association and the Endocrine Society.

Mammography Radiologist Mariam Hanna, MD joins the team at the Watson Clinic Women’s Center at 1400 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. Dr. Hanna received her medical degree from Florida State College of Medicine in Tallahassee, FL. She completed her internship at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. She went on to perform both a Radiology residency and a Breast Imaging Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She is board-certified in Radiology, Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging. Her areas of expertise include breast imaging and stereotactic MRI guided breast biopsy.

Christopher I. Jones MD joins the Cardiology department at Watson Clinic Main at 1600 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. Dr. Jones received his medical degree from the East Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, NC, where he also performed his residency in Internal Medicine. He went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiology from the Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV, and an additional fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL. His expertise is the diagnosis and management of cardiac rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia as well as device management for patients that need pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization devices to regulate their heart rhythms. He also specializes in lead management including laser lead extraction procedures.

Dr. Okoh received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. He went on to perform his internship in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC, his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC, and his fellowship in Neuroradiology at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MA. He is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology.
