Lakeland, FL – On the morning of Wednesday, August 7, Watson Clinic broke ground on a new location during a special ceremony attended by Lakeland Mayor Bill Mutz, members of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, local dignitaries, and enthusiastic residents in the community.
Scheduled to open in January 2020, Watson Clinic Urgent Care South will feature a staff of board-certified physicians and highly professional care team members who treat a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries on a walk-in basis without the need for an appointment. The site will also feature the convenience of after-hours and weekend availability, as well as onsite access to x-ray, CT, ultrasound, EKG and laboratory capabilities.
“People want access to Watson Clinic’s singular brand of expert care when they need it the most,” said Watson Clinic Managing Partner Dr. Steven Achinger as he addressed the gathering crowds. “Much like our Urgent Care Main location, our new Urgent Care South facility will provide people with the immediate care they need without having to wait for an appointment with their regular physician, and all while helping them avoid the high costs associated with traditional emergency room visits.”
Urgent Care South will renovate and expand upon the existing Watson Clinic South location, a beloved facility that has served the needs of patients in our community since 1985. The expansion will set the total square footage of the building at 37,138 square feet – over 9,000 square feet of which will be devoted to the Urgent Care department.

This location is exciting to see.”
