Tampa, Fla. – University Area CDC (Community Development Corporation) is seeking businesses and organizations in the 33612 and 33613 zip code areas to house attractive book-filled DreamBoxes, as a way to help improve the community. There will be no charge to organizations for the DreamBoxes.
Fifteen sites are needed for the DreamBoxes, which will be filled with a variety of books to further a sense of community and increase access to books for readers of all ages, fostering increased literacy. University Area residents are encouraged to borrow, as well as donate, books.
To have a DreamBox installed, interested parties should call University Area CDC at 813.558.5212. If selected, a mutually agreed upon installation date will be determined. Following installation, University Area CDC staff will add books to the DreamBoxes for the month of September. After that, book replenishment will be the responsibility of the organizations where the DreamBoxes are located.
University Area CDC, celebrating more than 20 years of serving the community, offers support for thousands of Tampa residents through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance. Its primary mission is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding University of South Florida’s Tampa campus.
