Volunteers Needed to Paint DreamBoxes

WHAT: University Area CDC needs volunteers to paint DreamBoxes

DETAILS: The public is invited to creatively paint 10 newly constructed DreamBoxes soon to be installed in the University Area. This fun and free event is open to all ages, but due to limited space, RSVP is requested by contacting Diana Diaz at 813.558.5212 ext 316 or at ddiaz@uacdc.org.
After installation, DreamBoxes will be filled with a variety of books to further a sense of community and increase access to books for readers of all ages, fostering increased literacy. University Area residents are encouraged to borrow, as well as donate, books.
(HOW MANY) DreamBoxes already have been installed and enjoyed since January of this year, when they were built through a partnership with the Rotary Club of Tampa North and numerous other volunteers.
Serving the community for more than 20 years, University Area CDC provides support for thousands of Tampa residents through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance. Its primary mission is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding University of South Florida’s Tampa campus.
