University Area CDC Offers Free Wellness Classes for Men

Thursday Night Gatherings to Focus on Goal Setting, Self-Awareness and More

Tampa, Fla. – University Area CDC (Community Development Corporation) is offering a free six-week class in topics like goal setting, stress management and relationships to men in the University Area, starting August 22.

“Wellness U encourages men to become the best versions of themselves, helping participants come together in a supportive fellowship of men to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skillset to achieve success in their lives and relationships,” says Sarah Combs, CEO and executive director of University Area CDC.

Topics explored will include: 

  • Goal Setting
  • Self-Awareness
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Finding Focus and Success
  • Relationships
  • Stress Management 

The group will meet at University Area Community Center in Annex C at 14013 N. 22th St., Tampa, every Thursday from August 22 through September 26 from 6-8 p.m. Participants should commit to attend every meeting. Celebrating more than 20 years of community service, the University Area CDC provides support for thousands of Tampa residents through youth programs, adult education and resource assistance. Its primary mission is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding University of South Florida’s Tampa campus.
