Gastroenterologist Rami Abboud, MD joins the Watson Clinic Highlands team at 2300 E. County Road 540A in south Lakeland. Dr. Abboud received his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in Irbid, Jordan. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, and his Gastroenterology fellowship at Augusta University in Augusta, GA. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association. His areas of expertise include upper endoscopy (EGD), Bravo capsule placement, esophageal dilation, and the treatment of acid reflux disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Melvin E. Omodon, MD is the newest member of Watson Clinic’s expert Radiology department. Dr. Omodon received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, OH. He completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Aultman/Mercy/Northeast Ohio Medical University in Canton, OH, where he also served as Chief Resident. He completed a Vascular & Interventional Radiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American Society of Emergency Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society and the Radiology Society of North America. He is board-certified in Radiology by the American Board of Radiology. He has been featured in numerous publications in his field, and is a peer reviewer for academic journals.
Dr. Omodon’s areas of expertise include kyphoplasty, uterine fibroid embolization, chemoembolization, tumor ablation, biopsy, abscess drainage, dialysis access maintenance, and peripheral vascular disease.

Zia Rab, MD joins the Cardiology department at Watson Clinic Main at 1600 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. Dr. Rab received his medical degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Hofstra University Northwell School of Medicine in Manhasset, NY, and an additional fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the Society of Vascular Medicine. Dr. Rab possesses multiple board-certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography and Endovascular Medicine, and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).

Dr. Taef received her medical degree from the Ankara University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. She completed an Internal Medicine internship at Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey, a Dermatology residency at Tehran University School of Medicine in Tehran, Iran, and an additional Internal Medicine residency at Saint John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, NY. She also received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Janey Wong, DO is a Watson Clinic Critical Care specialist who assists patients at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. Dr. Wong received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glen Head, NY. She completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Mercy Suburban Hospital in East Norriton, PA, and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners. Her areas of expertise include the placement of central catheter lines, intubations, bronchoscopy, paracentesis, thoracentesis, chest tube placements, transvenous pacemaker placement, and triaysis placement.
