The Military Officer’s Association of Sarasota will host a luncheon this Friday, 19 July starting at 11:30 at the Bird Key Yacht Club. The Guest speaker will be Jayme Welch, a former Navy Information Systems Technician. Her topic will be the story of El Faro, which sailed into Hurricane Joaquin with the loss of all 33 souls on board. The NTSB recovered her black box and generated a transcript of the last 26 hours of all conversations on the bridge.
