Pinellas County Business News – July 2019

July 1, 2019 by PCED

Pinellas County at SelectUSA
We shared the advantages of a Pinellas business location to an international audience of investors at the SelectUSA Investment Summit earlier this month.  This Summit brings together business leaders and economic developers from 79 global markets, helping to establish connections that will lead to business investment projects in the United States.  More than 3,100 people attended and past participants have announced more than $103.6 billion in investment projects.  Brent Barkway of Pinellas County Economic Development and Madison Lawson from the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation  were interviewed by Jin Yang, Washington Bureau Chief of Caijing Magazine.
Aug. 12 – 15: Global Tampa Bay Export Sales Mission to Brazil
As the ninth-largest economy in the world, Brazil offers a diverse consumer base for U.S. exporters. As Florida’s number one trading partner, Brazil received $14.7 billion in merchandise exports from Florida last year. Two weekly service connections to Brazil make the South American country Port Tampa Bay’s largest market for exports.
