TAMPA, Fla. (June 10, 2019) – Datz, the local South Tampa gastropub that has a decade of innovative and popular cuisine under its stretchy belt, is thrilled to announce that it is opening its second location at 180 Central Avenue Downtown St. Pete on June 17, 2019.
The Zagat-rated restaurant built its reputation on the strength of its menu items and has continued its upward trajectory by listening to its customers through reviews and its highly active social media channels. In fact, one of its most popular items, the Cheesy Todd, takes its name from a longtime friend of the restaurant who suggested putting one of Datz’s burgers between two fried macaroni and cheese “buns.”
Datz has always branded itself a culinary risk-taker. Its owners Suanne and Roger Perry study food trends religiously and give their “food scientists” the freedom to create highly original menu items. Those that work stay on the menu, which changes quarterly.
The spirit of innovation has led the Perrys to open this second location. “For years, we have watched St. Pete evolve into the dynamic and exciting city that it is today,” says Suzanne Perry. “We are incredibly happy to be part of its future.”
From the Cheesy Todd (featured on Good Morning America) to Barry C’s. Meatloaf (featured on the Travel Channel) to dozens of fan favorites, Datz St. Pete will showcase the same menu items as the original across the Bay. The vibe is upscale casual, with a mural of the Perrys’ pup Ben the Dog gracing the entryway. Expect to see lots of orange – the signature color – and watch for the marketplace to begin carrying lots of local and artisanal provisions.
Datz is the flagship property of Datz Restaurant Group, whose other restaurants include Dough, Roux, The Canyon at the James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art and the brand-new Dr. BBQ.
