Tampa General Hospital launches innovative three-county partnership with Fast Track Urgent Care
New venture will provide 10 locations across Tampa Bay
TAMPA, Fla. (June 6, 2019) – Tampa General Hospital and Fast Track Urgent Care have launched a new partnership to provide medical care at 10 locations throughout the Tampa Bay area, including two in Pinellas County.
The joint announcement of the 50-50 partnership between TGH and Fast Track marks the first time Tampa General has offered freestanding clinical care in Pinellas County. It also is an expansion for Fast Track, which currently operates eight clinics.
The 10 locations will be known as “TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track.” Plans for more locations are underway. The new locations exemplify how Tampa General is building a new breed of health system, one that links multiple locations for high-quality, low-cost patient-centered care to the high-level acute hospital care for patients with serious and complex illnesses. Tampa General’s health system also includes 15 Tampa General Medical Group locations, 14 Tower imaging locations, the TGH Brandon HealthPlex and the TGH Advanced Organ Disease & Transplantation Institute at Lee Health.
The urgent care centers will offer board-certified primary care providers who can take care of common illnesses and injuries without an appointment. The clinics offer both online reservations and walk-in care, providing a convenient and less costly alternative to the emergency room.
“With this partnership, Tampa General is providing new ways to offer world-class medical care to Tampa Bay residents when and where it’s easiest for them,” said John Couris, president and CEO of Tampa General Hospital. “We’re pleased to be able to partner with Fast Track, an organization that understands and values our high quality and innovation standards for providing patient-centered care.”
“We are excited to partner with Tampa General – after all, Tampa General is Tampa Bay’s most trusted health system,” said Dr. Daron G. Diecidue, founder and CEO of Fast Track Urgent Care. “This is a great opportunity for both organizations to grow, and patients on both sides of Tampa Bay will benefit from our combined expertise.”
Fast Track, which was the first organization in the Tampa Bay area to be certified by the Urgent Care Association of America, currently operates eight clinics that operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days per week. They are located in Carrollwood, Westchase, South Tampa, Tampa Heights, the Tyrone area of St. Petersburg, Seminole, Riverview and Wesley Chapel.
Tampa General Hospital operates TGH Urgent Care in Brandon and is about to open another clinic in Sun City.
All 10 of these locations will now be branded as TGH Urgent Care Powered by Fast Track and are at these locations:
• Wesley Chapel: 5504 Gateway Blvd., Wesley Chapel
• Carrollwood: 4505 Gunn Highway, Tampa
• Westchase: 11969 Sheldon Road, Tampa

“We are excited to start this partnership, and even more excited about how we will deliver health care to our communities in innovative ways that they have not yet experienced,” said Adam Smith, vice president of Ambulatory Services for Tampa General. “The culture and mission of both organizations are so closely aligned that it made creating this partnership an easy decision.”
