TAMPA, Fla. – The Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research has hired Chief Financial Officer, Betty Viamontes. She will serve on the executive team to elevate the organization’s accounting and finance department and strengthen the ability to advance the non-profit’s global mission.
Viamontes will oversee all aspects of financials and accounting, improving current systems and processes and helping Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research excel in their strategic expansions.

Viamontes comes to Lions Eye Institute with over 25 years of experience in financial operations, development, project management and strategic planning. She has held senior leadership positions in several prestigious organizations including the University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital. She also serves on the HCC board of Trustees as Vice Chair.
Viamontes is a graduate of the University of South Florida, and most recently was employed with Tampa General Hospital for over 22 years. As corporate controller at TGH, she was responsible for all accounting activity for the complete healthcare system. Viamontes has an impressive track record of implementing strategic objectives that lead to major cost savings and enhanced productivity.
