Tampa, FL. – Levy Recognition is pleased to have been a sponsor of the Seventh Annual Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Scholarship Dinner, held on May 9, 2019, at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club.
The Covelli Family Limited Partnership, owners of more than 80 Panera Bread restaurants in the Tampa Bay area, has been collaborating with the Children’s Cancer Center to put on the very special scholarship program for survivors of childhood cancer. This annual event celebrates the courage, strength, and resilience of cancer survivors as well as recognizes them for their academic achievements.
This year, the Covelli Family Limited Partnership presented an award total of $65,000 in scholarships to 24 winners during a Derby Day themed dinner celebrating the Run for the Roses. Scholarship awards are donations through the Community Breadbox Program, fundraisers throughout the year, and through donor support. Award recipients were chosen based on essay entries that reflected each student’s remarkable attitude, courage, and perseverance.
As an awards manufacturer, Levy wanted to do more to recognize these children for their strength and dedication to their academics. Their touching stories of perseverance and courage are inspirational and deserving of recognition. Levy Recognition donated custom awards for each of the scholarship recipients. The awards featured a red rose design to commemorate the Run for the Roses event theme. The awards also featured an engraving of each recipient’s name, the scholarship award level, and both the Panera Bread and Children’s Cancer Center logos.
While the event is primarily about recognizing the students for their academic success, Panera Bread and the Children’s Cancer Center to show their thanks and appreciation to scholarship donors and event sponsors. Children at the Children’s Cancer Center create pieces of artwork for each donor. They produced colorful drawings and paintings that are framed as a special gift. Levy Recognition has donated nameplates engraved with donor names affixed to artwork every year since the program’s inception. After the event, donors proudly take the artwork back to their place of business for display.
Congratulations to the 2019 Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Scholarship recipients. Levy Recognition is proud to have been part of recognizing each of the scholarship recipients. It’s such a special thing to see a child’s excitement when they are recognized for their academic success. Even more special when you know that child has fought and won the battle with childhood cancer. The employees of Levy Recognition never cease to be inspired by the children, their families, and the donors who help make the Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge event so amazing.
