Sarasota, May 2019 — Bank of America presented Meals On Wheels of Sarasota a $10,000 grant in support of their meal service to homebound seniors, Veterans, children and their families who are unable to shop, visit a food pantry, or prepare meals for themselves. 500+ heart healthy meals are delivered six days a week to residents of all ages who have physical or mental disabilities. A private charity, Meals On Wheels of Sarasota provides seven meals a week delivered by volunteers who cherish time with the meal recipients plus provide safety checks and environmental assessments.
“This means so much to us and the community we serve,” said Marjorie Broughton, Executive Director of Meals On Wheels of Sarasota. “The timing is perfect too as we have increased our capacity – doubling the number of meals we can prepare in a day – and plan to serve more people in need in eastern Sarasota County.”
