Planning is underway for this year’s series of events in St. Petersburg that
will celebrate “National Coming Out Day on October 11th”
The Come Out St Pete events coincide with National Coming Out Day on October 11. Our mission is to celebrate coming
out, to inspire members of the LGBTQ+ community to be honest about their sexual orientation and gender identity, to raise
awareness of issues facing the community, and to encourage others to be openly supportive as allies. Come Out Saint Pete
won 2nd place in the Wave Awards for the most “Prideful Event” in 2018.
Tentative plans are being put together right now for a week full of events starting October 3rd and ending on October 11th.
A parade and festival on October 5th. Last year we had an attendance of about 10,000 people and look foreword to making
that number much bigger this year. Tentative plans call for an art exhibit, a gender bending fashion extravaganza, a night at
Tropicana Field, a night with the Florida Orchestra, movie night, Taste of Grand Central and Grand Central Proud Festival
as well as the parade. Mayer Rick Kriseman has also confirmed that he will be walking in the parade.
