Business Education for Artists! St. Petersburg Arts Alliance will present a six-week program of professional development training sessions, providing artists and staff of arts organizations the skills and confidence to meet business challenges. The classes will help fine artists, musicians, writers and non-profit administrators prepare for careers in the arts industry and within arts organizations.
Session topics will include:
1. Defining Your Goal & Developing Your Brand.
2. Raising Funds – Grant Writing 101 & Artists Awards
3. Social Media and Marketing.
4. Financial Tips Including Pricing Your Art.
5. Simple Steps to Protect Your Creative Expression and the Consequences for Failure to Do So.
6. Advertising, Sales, Marketing, Media, Publicity & Promotion.
John Collins, Executive Director of the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, has hand selected local arts professionals and business leaders to teach at the program. “The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance is committed to professional arts education to support the growing numbers of artist entrepreneurs who drive our creative economy,” says Collins. “We have very encouraging arts community professionals who are willing to help so that everyone succeeds.”
The cost for the series is $199 per person, however scholarships are available courtesy of Regions Bank! Email John@stpeteartsalliance.org for application.Class size is limited. Sessions are held on Monday evenings beginning June 3 through July 8 from 6-8 pm at The Greenhouse located at 440 2ndAve North. Free parking is available in the city parking lot across the street.
