ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 30, 2019) — Dog bowls and a coffee bar, a custom mural and free WiFi. These are features of Suncoast Credit Union’s newest branch, which will celebrate its grand opening in downtown St. Petersburg May 9 with a ribbon-cutting and breakfast networking event. Located at 1022 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, the new service center offers new concepts and innovative features both to Suncoast Credit Union and banking in general.
“We are excited to open this branch because it is innovative and speaks to the way our members live today. Like the downtown St. Petersburg culture, this branch will welcome members in its own unique way while offering the same products, services and conveniences that our members enjoy,” said Suncoast President and CEO Kevin Johnson. “We look forward to extending our reach in St Petersburg into downtown and being part of this vibrant community.”
The newest Suncoast branch will offer:
- open/café style floor plan
- ITMs (Interactive Teller Service Technology Machines)
- coffee bar
- free secure WiFi
- modern furniture that blends with the industrial loft architecture of the building
- unique operating hours
- branded Suncoast dog bowls
- lack of traditional office space
Perhaps the interior hallmark of the 2,500 square-foot building is a custom mural created by local muralist Derek Donnelly. The artwork showcases both St Petersburg and the Suncoast brand together featuring new and historical coastline landmarks, a picturesque banyan tree, and a sunset.
“Having real support from deeply rooted financial institutions, corporations and organizations in the Tampa Bay area is an integral part of keeping our diverse creative culture alive and thriving,” Donnelly said. “Working with Suncoast Credit Union was a true pleasure being that they epitomize the true spirit of modern Tampa Bay, through creative and corporate collaboration.”
John Collins, executive director of the Arts Alliance, said art and business should go hand-in-hand.
“We are committed to helping businesses and artists come together to provide original art that employs local artists and incorporates the business into our arts and cultural community,” he said. “It’s a win-win for everyone.”
The networking event will be from 8 to 10 a.m. May 9 and is part of a week of celebration from May 6 – 11. The week will feature exclusive limited time new-member offers and a special Rays pre-game tailgate and open house on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
