Tampa Bay Tech Announces Accenture’s Jason Warnke as Interim Board Chair

April 25, 2019 by Post

Tampa, Fla.; April 25, 2019 – Tampa Bay Tech today announced Jason Warnke as interim chair of its board of directors. His appointment to chair will be voted on by the board at their upcoming meeting in May. Warnke is a managing director and serves on the global IT leadership team at Accenture, and had been serving as vice chair of Tampa Bay Tech’s board. He takes over for Kimberly Ansett of Nielsen, and has been active in Tampa Bay Tech for 10 years, serving as marketing chair within the executive committee prior to his current role with the organization.

“Jason’s strategic vision and collaborative leadership has been driving change within the organization for years,” said Jill St. Thomas, CRO and executive director of Tampa Bay Tech. “His passion for this tech community is unmatched and we are honored that he will be stepping into this role.”

Tampa Bay Tech is working to define Tampa Bay as the world’s most radically connected technology hub – fostering a robust workforce pipeline and a widespread pride in the community. Last year’s poweredUP Tampa Bay Tech Festival featured thirty-five speakers and more than 1,200 registered attendees. In 2018, Tampa Bay Tech produced, partnered on and/or sponsored more than 780 total tech events, reaching 20,000+ attendees, and providing more than $175,000 in sponsorship to students in the region, and helped cultivate the area’s startup community through peer groups for regional CXOs, software founder/CEOs and emerging tech leaders.

The organization also supported $5.9 million in regional technology workforce grant programs, academic advisory boards and the newly re-launched RNG Tampa Bay (for the region’s in-house, corporate recruiters).

“Tampa Bay is making great strides on the national and global stage. We’re growing, we have a rich, diverse base of talent, and innovative companies in our ecosystem,” said Warnke. “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to lead the Tampa Bay Tech board as we work toward our goal of establishing Tampa as the world’s most radically connected tech hub.”
