Evolve & Co, a full service advertising agency located in downtown St. Petersburg, was commissioned by The Breakfast Optimist Club to be the social media voice for the brand in the second quarter of 2019.
The Breakfast Optimist Club (BOC) reached out to Evolve & Co after observing the various work
on campaigns with other local business located on the 200 block including The Oyster Bar,
Crafty Squirrel, and DTSP St. Patrick’s Day Block Party. The organization commissioned Evolve
& Co to create fresh graphic designs and extend the social media audience. The local ad
agency will be working closely with the team of the BOC to curate a creative and effective social
media strategy to help convey the message for First Friday.
Since taking over the social media account in mid-March, Evolve & Co has increased page likes
by 166%, post engagement by 210%, and post reach by 1353% on Facebook. The ad agency
was responsible for the April First Friday event launch and outreach on the social platform; the
event reach a total 6.7K people. Evolve & Co plans to continue to use a mixed method of both
organic content and reach and strategic ad platform management through Facebook.

First Friday has been a St Pete traditional for almost a decade, hosted every first Friday on the
month. The popular block party features live performances by locally and nationally recognized
bands, dancing and street performers, specials on food and drinks from the surrounding
businesses, and exciting vendors for nearly 3,000 people who attend every month. The
well-known Tampa Bay radio station Q105 also makes an appearance at each event.
Although First Friday is a celebration, the BOC takes the opportunity to support the community.
The organization ensures that net proceeds from each event are funneled back into the
community, specifically supporting youth education and children’s health. Previous beneficiaries
and programs include Ronald McDonald House, Pack A Sack, Salvation Army, Junior Golf
Championship, Internet Safety, Fish-A-Thon, and Citizen of the Month Awards.
FIRST FRIDAY ST PETE: First Friday St. Pete is a showcase for the great bands, great drinks,
and great food that makes St Pete Florida’s most exciting city. Held on the first Friday of every
month, the downtown block party is free admission and open to all ages and families. Net
proceeds from each event benefits charitable efforts, with a focus on youth education and
children’s health.
THE BREAKFAST OPTIMIST CLUB: The Breakfast Optimist Club is a voluntary organization
of civic-minded men and women banding together in the modern tradition of progressive thought
and action in community service. The Optimist Club carries the motto, ”Friend of Youth”;
optimists conduct positive service projects which reach five million young people each year.
