ST. LEO, FL – Saint Leo University is offering a new scholarship to ease the transition for transfer students pursuing a four-year bachelor’s degree. The Study Florida Transfer Scholarship, which awards students who have earned an associate degree a 50 percent tuition discount, is available for students transferring to Saint Leo for the Fall 2019 Semester. Classes begin Tuesday, August 20.
Eligible students who complete an associate degree program in the United States can earn their bachelor’s degree for $11,550 a year with this scholarship.
Those interested in transferring and learning more about the scholarship may attend a Transfer Open House on Saturday, May 4. The open house will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the university’s main campus at 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo, FL 33574. The university is located in Pasco County, north of Tampa, FL.
Transfer students and their families are invited to learn more about the scholarship, complete an on-the-spot transfer credit evaluation, receive instant admission, and register for courses for Fall 2019 Semester. To register for the open house, call the Office of Admissions at (352) 588-8283 or visit https://www.saintleo.edu/transfer-students-admissions.
“We understand that cost is an important factor in a student’s college search, particularly as a transfer student,” said Dr. Senthil Kumar, vice president of University Campus Admissions and Center for Global Engagement. “By offering this level of scholarship to U.S. and international students already studying in the United States, we can bring a private university education within reach, in an easy and affordable way.”
Tuition for full-time students for Saint Leo’s 2019 – 2020 academic year is $23,100. The scholarship is applicable for new students enrolling for the Fall 2019 Semester, who plan to attend University Campus. The scholarship also is available to dual-enrollment students who hold an associate degree from a Florida high school. In addition, the Study Florida Transfer Scholarship is automatically renewable each semester until graduation.
Because of the many services Saint Leo offers transfer students as well as its high percentage of course credit acceptance, the university expects a record number of transfer students this fall, Kumar said.
“The scholarship can further encourage students to expand their search to include Saint Leo University and make a decision that’s both quick and rewarding,” he said.
